Vais SoundLinq 2 SL2Vi video ipod adapter review : UPDATE 08-20-2010: i have the ipod touch 3G now. youtube and pandora will work on the nav screen! amazing!!! with Sprint's 3G service, i have wifi in the car everywhere i go. UPDATE 09-10-2008: vais has since update the firmware for this model. you access songs via playlists, artists, genre... im very satisfied with this new firmware. the nav hack was done to allow playing videos while in motion. Dont bother getting the Lexus ipod adapter. it sucks big time! it isnt even made by Lexus!! I installed the Vais SoundLinq 2 SL2Vi video ipod adapter onto my 2007 Lexus GS. pros ==== + easy installation + great sound + adequate video resolution. not great because ipod vids arent great to begin with. cons ==== - pricey! 350 +15 for s+h - can only access songs via playlists - no more than 99 songs per playlist is recommended - videos ONLY PLAY when HANDBRAKE is ON!! conclusion ========== i wouldnt get it. im gonna return it immediately! i think i would rather get a normal AUX input and control my ipod manually instead of through the nav. SPECIAL THANKS to clublexus.com for instructions on how to take the console and nav unit out. installation took me about 3 hours because i had never even worked on a car before. but with some know how, i can do this in 40 minutes now. it isnt hard at all!
